Bali Trip

Yes, it has been a week since I 'm back from my trip and ppl have been asking for photos on it. We took quite a lot bit of pics when there but it's impossible to post everything, will only post some.

As mentioned in my previous blog, we are supposed to stay in the lagoon villa ( as shown above). However, when we reached there, all the lagoon villas that are located along the pool were occupied so they allocated us one which was on the far end of the pool. Though it was also direct access to the pool at doorstep but fussy Dawn refused to settle for less except the one they posted on their website so we asked for a change of room. In then end, they gave us a upgrade to honeymoon villa at an special price at only US75/nite. This was really a steal coz the honeymoon villa alone costs US350/nite and our lagoon villa is only US120/night.

A blessing in disguise, we ended up staying in this honeymoon villa. It comes with a exclusive private pool where u can do nude swimming (kidding), a nice bathroom (w sunken bath) that direct access to the pool. It's hard to put them in words so we captured a video on it. Enjoy !! It's really a splurge to stay there..and we gald we get the chance to stay there at this affordable price !.. but please read on for more on our lodging adventure there ...

On the second day, they "moved" us back to the lagoon villa but we make sure we moved back to the villa that we wanted and they kept their promise. The lagoon villa was just as nice as it was posted on their website. We can jump out directly from the pool at our doorstep with the bed is on the second floor ...

In the late afternoon, we went for a 2hr spa followed by a flying gurume dinner. that's end our second day in Bali.

On third day, we have planned a series of activities lined up for us. We went to nusa dua for water sport. We both tried the parasailing, went to the turtle island to see some "friends" there.

Here's some pics of our parasailing experiences, Nah too small to see indeed. After a tiring morning activities, we decided to settle for another 2 hr of spa to energise ourselves followed by a sumptuous seafood dinner @ jimbaran (once bomb site) witnessing the sunset at the same time.


When we reached our lagoon villa, just as we were heading for bed, we realised the air con in our second deck was not working, we again called them up to check. They told us it was faulty and will upgrade a jacuzzi villa for us. We went to check out that villa but again fussy Dawn dont really like it so we requested for other superior villa and dun mind paying the upgrade. In the end, we were offered a dexule villa (a big one with private pool)and as a kind gesture , they upgraded us foc !! They are really nice ppl.

On 4th day, we went to monkey island not much to see except monkeys ..

Then to Ubud , a handicraft village and Lippy get to taste the worst banana split in his life. Again, not much to see as we are not really into those handicraft stuffs.



We went tanah lot to witness the temple build on the cliff. Nice Place .. but tooo hot ... thereafter we went to Kota for some shopping but was disappointed to find the shopping there were really not much unlike tokyo .. so we didnt buy much :(


That night, we went for some spanish resturant for another sumptuous dinner. With that, it ended our 5d4N Bali trip. Overall, we find the villa was nice but weather is too hot and polluted air and was disappointed at the shopping malls there. Hence, overall rating for this trip : ** out of 5

After my last blog, a few of my friends pour in to show their concerns on my insomnia problem so I thought it will be good to update you on my condition.

Yes, the good news is I am coping with it well and it is showing some improvement. Now, I'm no longer relying on sleeping aids and try to sleep on my own. This is really a big leap for me coz it really took me alot alot of courage to do that and I proud of myself for taking this bold move. I will describe this expriences similiar to quiting smoking. You need to set your mind to do it and go all the way through inorder to overcome your mental obstances.

Some good news to share,

(1) Boss finally gave me a nod on my 6 mths probation. Wow, finally made it through after 6 mths long.
(2) Will be going to Bali next week to take a break from our hectic work schedules.
(3) I got myself a oven to bake more goodies. Thus, will share more on my blog soon.
(4) Increment, VB & prorated AWS will be on the way in April , ha ha ha

Bali... here we come ...

We decided to go for a short getaway to rewind ourselves. Partly, also due to my insomnia problem that we thot it will be a good reason for us to take away from our work stress & other stress. We will be flying off to BaLli on 1st April and back on 5th April. We will be staying in this resort during our stay.

My worst ...

In my earlier blog, I mentioned that I suffered from insomnia. It is somthing not unusual bcoz I often have problem catching sleep on Sun night due to the Monday Blues but for the rest of the week, I'm usually alright and can catch my beauty sleep well.

This time, my insomnia problem get worsen that I can imagine. I couldn't get a wink on Mon night after a sleepless night on Sun. I "zoombie" to work on the next week, visited the clinic near my workplace to get the antidote. Managed to sleep well on tues night with the prescribed pills. But on Wed 's night, it relapsed again & this time, it got worsen as I stayed wide awake thoughout the night till the next morning.

I couldnt bring myself to work on the very next day so I went to see my company doc at Lot 1 (under Raffles Medical) which was a grave mistake I made.

This doc that I seen probably the worst doc I have seen in my entire life.
1. She did nothing to offer help to solve my problem
2. She didnt show the slightest sympathetic to my woes
3. She made me feel worse by continuing to rub salt on my problem
This is what she told me in exact in a very sarcastic way
" I cant help you, you have to solve your own problem. This could be mental stress or other stress that has built up. We do not have sleeping pills here & I dont issue also. Go to the hospital if you still cant sleep " and sent me out.

Later, the nurse called my name & dispensed 5 pills which supposed to help me in my sleep and a day off. I requested for another day prior to yesterday, that doc rejected and sent me off.

Having gone through this strings of ordeals, I thought I am strong enough to handle but I jz snapped like a rubberband. Yes, I broke down, no matter how hard I tried to fight back my tears, it just flow down uncontrollably. (first time of admitting crying in my blog)

Yes,the doc's intention do mean well that she do not want us to rely on pills to sleep but her approach to this was utterly wrong. It is literally like pushing us down from a high storey floor. I mean, if you, as a doc couldnt help us, then who can?

Of course, I bring myself together later after receiving so much support from my hubby, parents, my mother in law and sis in law , etc. All of them came in with remedies to cure me. It's still early to say if I have recovered but I try to stay strong to fight with this.

Lastly, I still considering whether I should lodge a complaint to the Medical council board on this doc. But I defintely will never return to that clinic anymore.

Some updates ..

Sorry again for not blogging actively. Mainly becoz there's no such memorable events to milestone them except...

1) My second nephew has turned one month on 16th Feb & hopefully, he grows fast enough to play wrestling with his brother, Cheng Cheng.

2)We are inspired by the de-lic-ious durian ice cream from the single scoop and decided to give it a try to create our own. But it turned out to taste like potong ice cream instead of the creamy texture. Later, suprising to find out that my FIL seems to like it. :P )

3) I suffered from insomnia for the past two days, only managed to sleep at 3 or 4am !! which also means that I fully qualified to be a confinement lady.

4)I will officially join Fitness First under my corporate plan starting this month to shed off my excess fat that I put on during the festive season

5) Two of our best friends jz gave birth to a healthy boy & gal recently. Congrads to our pround parents, "Diana & Weizhong" & "Jamson & Angela"

Ah Cheng finally learnt to walk. We managed to catch him walking toward his ye ye to bring him out for his usual gai gai.

Minty & Milky gone as well...

Yesterday, we received another devastating news from my SIL, that Minty & Milky had passed away as well. She tried every ways to save them, rushed them to vet but they were too weak to survive.
In one day, we lost all of them, Tiger, Minty and Milky... ...

We grieve.. and hope they can be living happier in another world, heaven..

Minty, Milky & Tiger, thanks for giving us a chance to take care of you. Though it was short but you will stay in our memories forever ....

A very Sad Demise of Tiger..

We wish we can do more for Tiger..This morning, we found him lying motionless when we going to give him the usual morning feed. His two sisters, Mint & Milky,were meowing loudy to wake him, but he will never wake up again. Tiger had passed away peacefully in his sleep last night. We hope he leads a happier life in the heaven, Though his stay was brief (only 2 days) but we will treasure this memories. Yesterday, Ah Lip went around looking for their mommy but still no luck. We will continue to take care of Mint & Milky but Mint was so weak & we hope she can pull through.. Lets pray for them...

Any kind soul & cat lover ....

We found 3 little poor kittens near our house. Apparently, their mommy had jz given birth to them & abandoned them . 2 little white kitties & 1 with dark tiger strip.When we found them, they were shivering in fear. We have to wrap them in warm towel and feed them lukewarm milk to keep them warm. It was a tedious task but we hope we can cope well to keep them alive. All of them are still very weak esp tiger coz when Ah lip saved him, he was almost dying.

So now, we are calling cat lover to adopt them coz we can't possible keep them as we have 2 big dogs.

CC 's bro is coming out any moment from now...

The whole Ng family are getting so excited now coz xiao CC 's bro is coming out any moment from now. Have just received a call from sis that she will be delivered today. So now, I reckon my sis is going throu the "pushing" to squeeze CC's bro out to this world. We will be able to see him any moments from now.

In the meantime, Jia You! Jia You! to Sis & Swee Guan !!

Our new workdesk

At Angsana, they have this ""Dinner of the Legend" whereby the diners get to enjoy this exclusive dining experience by the seaside. Definitely a splurge experience.
Some pics by the sea.When dinner, we get a chance to enjoy a fine dining experience @ TreeTop Rest @ Banyan Tree Resort. All the “fine dining” elements were packaged in this stylish space that make us feel so special. Food & Ambience were splendid and so was the price. :(
Few other pics .. For the next 2 days, we didnt spend much time on snapping pics. :P All in all, it was a relaxing trip that we truly enjoyed. We hope to go back to Banyan Tree for our next Bintam holiday..
